Position Details:

Design, develop, and manage electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and
residential projects. -
Prepare detailed electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.

Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and other electrical system analyses.

Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with project
specifications and industry standards. -
Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to
integrate electrical designs with overall project plans. -
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical issues during project
execution. -
Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and integrate
innovative solutions into projects.
Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
-
3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a consulting environment.

Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, AGI32).

Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards (e.g., CEC, NFC, NBCC, NECC, etc.).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Electrical Technologist

Emtech is looking for an Electrical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years experience in designing building electrical systems and AutoCAD drafting.
Position Details:

Develop electrical design drawings for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings utilizing AutoCAD drafting software.

Develop and modify project specification based on national master specification.
-
Review project shop drawings to ensure contractors are supplying equipment and materials in accordance with project design drawings.

Site visits to collect existing electrical infrastructure layouts.
Position Requirements:
-
Candidate must hold a recognized post-secondary institute diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.

Candidate must be able to work independently or in a team environment.
-
Candidate must have ability to operate Autocad (latest version) unsupervised.

Strong computer skills, communication skills and ability to multi-task are required.

2+ years of building electrical design experience.
-
Registered as a C.E.T. is considered an asset.

Experience operating AGI32 lighting design software and/or electrical design software such as ETAP will also be considered assets when evaluating applicants.
